Yay for planetside. And warcraft. And Crystal Chronicles when you happen to amass the requisite resources (3+ players, gameboys, link cables, and the actual game) to make it fun. Boo for having to apply to places for work this summer. Rather, boo for having to do so knowing I'll have a very low success rate. Yay for free monitors from wonderful girlfriends. And... yay for Radiohead... just because.

Ah yes.
Chad: "But what if the mummy had a sex-change..."
Sara: "Quote?"
Chad: "Quote?"
Sara: "Shut up!"

Hehe, got a lot of compliments on my bike today. One weird guy in a gas station was like, "EXCUSE ME! It's BEAUTIFUL. Very BEAUTIFUL.". And someone wrote "good luck on your finals" on everyone's whiteboards, but "finals" looks like "Anals". And there was something else I wanted to write, but i forgot.

Yay for me! I overloaded my first ">>" operator in C++. Sniff.. it was hard, too... cuz I had to make a function to convert strings to integers, and to figure out all that mean const and referencing stuff. But i dids it! So now i can input "1/2" into my rational class using just the ">>" operator. Yay for me!

Christ. How'd i manage to go 5 days without posting. Hehe, this is usually the fate of such things; fun and new, but they gradually just faaaade awaaaaay. But, unlike other things, I just wont' care. Then it won't matter if it happens, and I won't have to lament it. Hehe, the problem is I have the habit of just telling everyone when i think something's funny, instead of putting it up here.

Yay for warcraft. And boo for my inline function not working. And yay for homestarrunner.

Wow, my physics book is harsh:
"A 90-kg weakling cannot do even one pull-up. By standing on a scale (Fig. 12-3), he can determine how close he gets. His best effort results in a scale reading of 23 kg. What force is he exerting? Solution: There are three forces acting on our non-athlete, as show in Fig. 12-3:..."
That's almost as bad as the one from a few chapters ago:
"An airplane pilot fell 370 m after jumping without his parachute opening. He landed in a snowbank, creating a crater 1.1 m deep, and died on impact. Assuming the pilot's mass was 80 kg, and his terminal velocity was 50 m/s, estimate: (a) the work done by the snow in bringing him to rest; (b) the average force exerted on him by the snow to stop him; and (c) the work done on him by air resistance as he fell."
Ok ok, it actually said "...1.1 m deep, but survived with minor injuries". But I like my way better... because then his velocity was most certainly... terminal.

Yowza.

Anyway, saw Club Dread with Pat, Jon, Fuzzy, GoodBen, and Trav. Was nice getting to hang out with friends, but movie wasn't great; the funny parts were funny, but they spent too much of it doing horror-movie stuff, which = teh loose. Then we went back and watched Supertroopers, which was every bit as glorious as I remembered it. Sara and Trav were first time viewers, so they got to partake of one of the funniest movies evAr.

I'll actually be going to class this week and next week, on account of 1) finals soon, so dont' want to miss anything important, and 2) my recent physics/pic scores have been less than satisfactory, so apparently i don't have an infinite capacity for knowledge retention from high school. Hehe, not that I was great at physics then, either. "F = m... what the fuck????!!?"

Oh yeah, and Fuzzy informed me that since we have 3 bens (Benihana, ben luellen [dirty, irritating one from chess, hung out with jon king], and jew ben), they are to be identified as, respectively, GoodBen, BadBen, and WorseBen, a la King of the Hill.

And here's an old gem, courtesy of one of Fuzzy and Ben's brainstorms:

This is my book report!
Examination! No leaving!

Chad: Oh, so you mean blowjob qua blowjob?

Hehe, Objectivism on love:

Love, we are repeatedly taught, consists of self-sacrifice. Love based on self-interest, we are admonished, is cheap and sordid. True love, we are told, is altruistic. But is it?
Imagine a Valentine's Day card which takes this premise seriously. Imagine receiving a card with the following message: "I get no pleasure from your existence. I obtain no personal enjoyment from the way you look, dress, move, act or think. Our relationship profits me not. You satisfy no sexual, emotional or intellectual needs of mine. You're a charity case, and I'm with you only out of pity. Love, XXX."

We see it in the appalling dictum of "Hate the sin, but love the sinner"—which would have us condemn death camps but send Hitler a box of Godiva chocolates.

goldenpants78 (6:03:09 PM): see this? ---- > .
goldenpants78 (6:03:17 PM): it's the full summation of what you know
goldenpants78 (6:04:13 PM): it amounts to a small speck of a pixel, a mere electronic fragment of information barely discernable from a scratch on your monitor!
goldenpants78 (6:04:26 PM): THAT, DEAR CHRIS, IS WHAT YOU KNOW

But all joking aside, stupid government. Martha was pronounced guilty for insider trading, ie for not holding onto her stocks when someone told her they were gonna drop in value. Because after all, it's so SELFISH of her to try and not lose money when she can morally act in her own self interest. For christ's sake, wtf were they thinking? Because not everyone knew the value was going to drop, that means those who do aren't allowed to act on it? "A meteor is heading for the city I live in! But since not everyone in the city knows it's coming, it would be SELFISH (and therefore OUGHT to be illegal!) for me to leave; ah, blessed, altruistic, fiery death awaits!" Total shit. Even if it were immoral for people in the know to tell other people what's going to happen to certain stocks (and i'm not sure that it is), there's no way it's the fucking fault of the people who get told. gaaaaaaaaah

*PS* Apparently she wasn't convicted of insider trading, it was of lying about insider trading. So, she's still guilty (because she did), and it's still unjust (because she had to lie to try and save herself from such a barbaric mentality, and, unfortunately, failed).

Got up at 5:30 yesterday to work at the polls from 6:15a till 9:15p, no breaks except from 12:30 tol 3:15 for lunch and my physics midterm. I expected a bunch of weirdos and whatnot, because whenever I venture out into the general population there always seem to be crazy people and freaks who babble, but almost everyone was pretty normal; could speak coherently, could follow instructions, was tolerant of waiting 15 seconds while we processed them. Coworkers were pretty good for the most part, too; the only morons were the guys supposed to be running things, the inspectors. they got especially retarded when it came time to close up and they didn'tknow what to do nor cared to do things properly because they had foolishly scheduled dates at 9/9:30, even though closing up the polls (at 8:00) was supposed to take an hour. the other people got pretty lazy, too, and by the end only myself and like 2 other people were there. I made $80, which wasn't much for the hours worked, but I got to learn new things, so whatev. Won't be doing it again.

And my professor's program runs faster than mine. Prolly because I used a bubblesort. sniff, but it's so cute.
